TROUBLESHOOTING
BATTERY IS DAMAGED OR WEAK
Remove the battery (page 16-4).
Check the battery condition using the recom-
mended battery tester.
RECOMMENDED BATTERY TESTER:
BM-210-AH or BM-210 (U.S.A. only)

Correct
Install the battery (page 16-4).
Check the battery current leakage (Leak test;
page 16-6).
SPECIFIED CURRENT LEAKAGE: 0.2 mA max.
Check the alternator charging coil (page 16-7).

STANDARD: 0.1 1 .O
Measure and record the battery voltage using a
digital multimeter (page 16-4).
Start the engine.
Measure the charging voltage (page 16-61.
Compare the measurement t o the result of the
following calculation.
STANDARD:
Measured battery voltage
