Coloque el vehículo sobre el caballete central.
Desmonte el escudo delantero interior, véase pág. 43
(DESMONTAJE ESCUDO DELANTERO INTERIOR).
Desmonte el capó delantero, véase pág. 43 (DES-
MONTAJE CARENADO FRONTAL).

ATENCION
Al extraer el manguito (1) saldrá del depósito de ex-
pansión (2) el líquido refrigerante.
Prepare un recipiente con capacidad de alrededor de
L
1 para recuperar el líquido que va a salir.
Coloque, por debajo del depósito de expansión, un
paño absorbente para recoger el líquido refrigerante
en caso de que éste se derrame.
IMPORTANTE
Prepare unas abrazaderas de des-
tornillador para sustituirlas a la original (de tipo especial
sin tornillo).
Corte la cabeza de la abrazadera (3).
IMPORTANTE
Durante la instalación sustituya la
abrazadera con una nueva.
Extraiga el manguito (1) del empalme depósito de ex-
pansión.
Ponga rápidamente el recipiente por debajo del depó-
sito de expansión y recupere el líquido refrigerante.

PELIGRO
El líquido refrigerante es nocivo:
NO LO TRAGUE.
NO ESPARZA EL LIQUIDO EN EL AMBIENTE.
Coloque el recipiente en un lugar seguro.
MANTENGASE LEJOS DEL ALCANCE DE LOS NIÑOS.
Corte la cabeza de la abrazadera (4).
IMPORTANTE
Durante la instalación sustituya la
abrazadera con una nueva.
Extraiga el tubo de purga (5) del empalme depósito de
expansión.
Destornille y quite los dos tornillos (6), recuperando las
arandelas.
Saque el depósito de expansión (2).

Quite la tapa de inspección derecha, véase pág. 41
(DESMONTAJE TAPAS DE INSPECCION DERECHA
E IZQUIERDA).
Desconecte el terminal (7) (cable blanco/azul marino
(Bi/B)) del termistor (8).
Desmonte el termistor (8), véase MANUAL DE TA-
LLER MOTOR # 921 (I-UK-F-D-E).

Position the vehicle on the centre stand.
Remove the front inner shield, see p. 43 (REMOVING
THE FRONT INNER SHIELD).
Remove the front cover, see p. 43 (REMOVING THE
FRONT COVER).

CAUTION
By withdrawing the pipe (1), you will make the coolant
flow out of the expansion tank (2).
Prepare a container with about 1
the outflowing coolant.
Put a cloth under the expansion tank, to absorb the
coolant that may drip on the floor.
NOTE
Get screwdriver-type pipe clamps, to replace the
original ones (special type without screw).
Cut the head of the clamp (3).
NOTE
Upon reassembly, replace the clamp with a new
one.
Withdraw the pipe (1) from the expansion tank cou-
pling.
Promptly put the container under the expansion tank
and gather the coolant.

WARNING
The coolant is noxious:
DO NOT SWALLOW IT.
DO NOT DISPOSE OF THE COOLANT IN THE ENVI-
RONMENT.
Put the container in a safe place.
KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN.
Cut the head of the clamp (4).
NOTE
Upon reassembly, replace the clamp with a new
one.
Withdraw the breather pipe (5) from the expansion tank
coupling.
Unscrew and remove the two screws (6), taking the
washers.
Remove the expansion tank (2).

Drain the cooling system, see p. 71 (DRAINING THE

COOLANT SYSTEM
Remove the right inspection cover, see p. 41 (REMOV-
ING THE RIGHT AND LEFT INSPECTION COVERS).
Disconnect the terminal (7) (white/blue (Bi/B) cable)
from the thermistor (8).
Remove the thermistor (8), see ENGINE SERVICE
AND REPAIR MANUAL # 921 (I-UK-F-D-E).
