Los frenos son los órganos que garantizan mayor-
mente su propia seguridad, por lo tanto hay que con-
servarlos siempre en perfecta eficacia.

Mida la distancia que cubre la palanca antes de que el
freno empiece su acción de frenado. La carrera en va-
cío en la extremidad de la palanca del freno debe ser
de unos 10 mm.
Ajuste el juego actuando sobre el tensor (1).
Accione el freno varias veces y controle que la rueda
gire libremente tras haber soltado el freno.
Controle la eficiencia de frenado.
IMPORTANTE
Si el tensor (1) resulta estar atorni-
llado del todo, esto significa que las zapatas están des-
gastadas; en este caso véase pág. 123 (COMPROBA-
CION DESGASTE ZAPATAS

working.

Measure the distance covered by the lever before the
brake starts it braking action. The idle stroke at the end
of the brake lever must be about 10 mm.
Adjust the clearance by acting on the adjuster (1).
Put on the brake repeatedly and make sure that the
wheel turns freely after the brake has been released.
Check the braking efficiency.
NOTE
If the adjuster (1) can be screwed up completely,
this means that the brake shoes are worn out.
