Working with Connections
1.
Use LocalView to enable DHCP on the Rapid Eye unit. See figure 3–8, p. 32.
The Site Name is not used in this type of connection.
2.
Click Refresh.

Make a note of the IP Address assigned by DHCP to the unit, for use in steps 4 and 5 of this
procedure.
4.
Using Admin software, add a connection as you would for a Common Network, p. 31. In IP
Address, type the IP Address used in LocalView, obtained in step 3.
5.
Contact the administrator of your network, to reserve the IP address, obtained in step 3. DHCP can
change an address if it is not reserved, compromising future attempts to connect to the unit.

Timeout on network without DHCP
If DHCP is unavailable on your network, a unit's request for DHCP services times-out after two
minutes.
