chart the soundings with a depth value lower than the Safety depth are displayed in dark
grey but the soundings with a depth value bigger are displayed in light grey colour. Both
soundings can be displayed or hidden by checking on or off the check boxes "Deep
Soundings" and "Shallow Soundings" in the Presentation panels described above.
Safety height This is the height, in meters, above sea level that is considered to be safe
for the ship.
The safety depth must not be less than the safety contour value.
NOTES
Depth information provided by ENC is not adjusted by tidal height.
Chart display depends on selected depth parameters.
In the following example, one chart has two different presentations according to different
safety contour and shallow contour values.
ECDIS can make the light sectors flashing when the ship is closer to the lights than a fixed
distance.

ENC/AVCS
EAMLESS
If AVCS charts are installed together with ENC both kinds of charts can be displayed in
seamless mode, meaning that for the area of the screen not covered by ENC charts, AVCS
charts are used to complete the coverage.

ENC/ARCS
EAMLESS
If ARCS charts are installed together with ENC both kinds of charts be displayed in seamless
mode, meaning that for the area of the screen not covered by ENC charts, ARCS charts are
used to complete the coverage.
