AIS
If AIS is connected to the ECDIS workstation, ECDIS900 receives from the transponder the
own ship's parameters set up in the AIS transponder.
The information is displayed in the AIS panel and the green icon displayed in front of the
parameter means that ECDIS900 setting is the same than AIS setting for the selected
parameter. If the icon is red the parameter in AIS is different from the parameter in ECDIS900.
If any discrepancy occurs, ECDIS900 proposes to synchronize the data by using in ECDIS900
the data setup in AIS.
When several ECDIS workstations are connected in a network, ship's parameters and chart
settings are synchronize regularly.
The following list of parameters is broadcasted from the monitoring station to planning
stations:
Ship identification (ship name, call sign, IMO number)
•
GPS name and GPS position offset
•
Ship dimensions and shape
•
GPS and radar position
•
Alarm settings
•
Safety settings (Draught and Air Draught).
•
This module is specially designed to suit the Pilot needs. The Pilot builds his own Ship's profile
database and can select the proper profile when entering a ship.
A ship's profile contains all ship's and safety parameters settings including:
Ship's name, call sign, length, width, draught etc.
•
Position of GPS and Radar antennas
•
Alarms settings
•
Safety contour, depth, height...
