Evaluating calculated routes

VDS offers an efficient tool to evaluate the different calculated routes and to check the
forecasted weather conditions the ship will face according to the planned speed and the
selected route.
Use the slider in the panel "Replay trip conditions" to display the ship positions according to
the selected time displayed on the right of the slider. Please note that the weather and
current situation is changing according to the selected time.
When several routes are calculated the VDS displays the calculated ship positions on all the
routes.
It is possible to have an immediate view on the forecasted weather and current conditions on
the latest calculated route. When the weather display is hidden (Option accessible from the
weather panel) the VDS will show the latest route with the weather and current condition on
each intermediate waypoints together with the calculated SOG for each leg:
Wind information is displayed with a bar.

Wave information is displayed by colour: blue leg indicates low waves, high is waves
•
higher than 6 meters.
Current is displayed as an arrow.
