ISTANCE MEASURING
To measure the distance from one point to another point located outside of the chart, move
the cursor in the required direction, outside of the chart area clicking on the black screen area
outside of the chart border loads automatically the chart with the most precise scale.
W
AYPOINT MOVE
To move a waypoint outside of the chart area, proceed in the same way as automatically
scrolling the chart. With Raster charts, the waypoint appears on the next chart. Pick up the
waypoint again by placing the cursor above it and holding down the Left mouse button.
Move the waypoint to the chosen location and release the L mouse button.

OLLOW THE SHIP
Use the "Follow Ship" function, to automatically scroll the chart under the moving ship
(Relative motion).

REA
Clicking the Select Area icon in the tool bar and choosing a chart area name, moves and
zooms the chart according to the pre-defined parameters (Scale and geographical location).

ENTRING THE SHIP ON THE
Clicking the Centre on ship button centres the chart view on the ship. If using ARCS charts or
if the ship is not inside the current chart, a new chart will be loaded.

OAD A CHART DIRECTLY FROM
Double click on the chart name to load the chart.
WARNING
Do not confuse 'Centre the ship' with 'Follow ship'.
Centre the ship is a single command causing the ship will be centred on the display with the
relevant chart area under it. The ship will then normally move away from the centre (True
motion). Unless the user re-centres the ship when it reaches the display edge it will move out
of view.
The Follow Ship command causes the chart to scroll automatically under the ship. (Relative
motion)

CALE
The current scale is displayed in the static information console.
The ECDIS offers several ways of zooming in and out:
Click on the Zoom in / out icon on the toolbar to zoom in or out one step.
