Chart Area

After the mode is switched on and the password is confirmed, it is required to restart the
system.

SETTINGS AND
When the user password is not empty, locked ECDIS settings and Sensor Monitor Settings
can be changed only if the proper password is entered.
When ECDIS settings are locked, it is impossible to modify the following parameters:
Ship parameters
GPS and radar antenna positions
Alarm settings
Ship display parameters
Safety settings (safety contour, safety depth, safety height, deep contour)
Console options
When Sensor Monitor settings are locked it is impossible to change settings of the sensors, to
create or delete any sensor.

If one of the password is lost it is required to contact MARIS to get access to a meta password
allowing to unlock the system
Charts are displayed in the chart area of the screen. According to IEC standard, the screen size
must be larger than 270 * 270 mm.
ECDIS900 supports two chart formats: Vector and Raster. The system operates the vector
cartography under a seamless mode whereas the raster cartography, such as ARCS from the
British Admiralty, is operated under the chart by chart mode. The following seamless modes
are available:
ARCS seamless mode:
ENC/ARCS combined seamless mode

CALE BARS
If chart scale is smaller than 1:80 000, the latitude bar is shown on the left side of the chart
area (Length 10 nm).
For scales bigger than 1:80 000 the scale bar is shown in different colours on the left side of
the chart area (Length 1 nm).
