AFETY CONTOUR PANEL
When vector charts are in use ECDIS displays in the Safety contour panel two values of the
depth:
The user selected value for safety contour.
•
The safety contour available in the chart cell located under the ship's position. If ECDIS
•
does not find a safety contour equal to the selected value it selects the contour with the
nearest bigger value.
To change the value for safety contour see the

IND PANEL
The wind panel displays either True or Relative values of the wind.
To switch between the two values right click in the panel and activate the appropriate item
menu.
It is also possible to display a graphical wind indicator on top of the chart by right clicking in
the panel and selecting "Show graphical display".

EPTH PANEL
The depth panel displays either the depth below transducer, below the keel or below the
surface.
To switch between the values right click in the panel and activate the appropriate item menu.
See the Sensor Monitor manual to set the correct parameter for depth calculation.

AYPOINT PANELS

ARGET PANEL
The target panel displays information regarding the selected target.
To select a target (ARPA or AIS) click once on the target and a dotted line rectangle highlights
the target.
The Legend panel displays information about the loaded ENC cells or Raster chart under the
ship's position and gives different warnings.
It also displays:
The vector type (True/Relative).
•
Warning "Better chart exists".
•
The last applied ENC update. Edition number and cell name under ship position.
•
Quality of the data.
•
The depth and height units.
•
