Front Panel Operation

6.1.1 LED Indicators

The function of the front panel LED indicators is as follows:

In general, the Alarm relay state reflects the state of
the Front Panel LEDs. For example, if the Unit Status
LED is red, the Unit Alarm relay is active, etc. The
sole exception is the Transmit Traffic relay – it does
not reflect the state of the Tx carrier; it activates
only if a Transmit Traffic Fault exists.

Green No Tx Traffic faults
A Tx Traffic fault exists (this is independent of the Transmit Carrier state – see

Tx Carrier is ON (reflects the true state of the Tx carrier, regardless of Tx Traffic

Off Tx Carrier is OFF
No Rx Traffic faults (Demod/FEC decoder are locked, valid frame sync, if

applicable, and no other Rx traffic alarms)
An Rx Traffic fault exists (frame sync alarm, etc - the demod may still be OK –

Green The demodulator and FEC decoder are locked
