5.2.1 FAST Activation via the CDM-625A Front Panel

using this interface.
Step Task

Before contacting Comtech EF Data Product Support to order FAST feature upgrades, obtain and record
the modem's motherboard serial number:

Typical for either option register (Register1 or Register2), enter the FAST Access Code (each FAST
Access Code is submitted separately):

From the front panel main menu, SELECT: FAST, and then press [ENTER].
The modem's 9-digit "Baseboard S/N" is displayed on the bottom line, to the left.
Record Serial Number: ______________________________________
From the front panel main menu, SELECT: FAST, then press [ENTER].
From the SELECT: FAST  OPTIONS menu, select View Options, then press [ENTER].
Use the up and down arrow keys ( ▲▼) to scroll through the list of available FA ST options.
Options ar e i dentified as ' Installed' or ' Not In stalled'. A ny t hat are ' Not In stalled' may be
purchased as a FAST upgrade.
Provide the unit Serial Number to the Product Support representative.
Identify and purchase the desired FAST option(s).
Obtain the invoice, the register-specific 20-digit FAST Access Code(s), and the FAST option
activation instructions.
When a FAST A ccess C ode is obtained f rom C omtech E F D ata, it will be for a
specific option register. The FAST options are linked to two option registers:
Register1 is for Data Rate, L-Band, and Framing options.

Register2 is for Modulation type and Packet Processor options.
•
Depending on the FAST option, press [CLEAR] to return to the SELECT: FAST  Options
 Set Register1 or the SELECT: FAST  Options  Set Register2 menu.
Use the arrow keys (▲▼◄ ►) to carefully enter each register-specific 20-character FAST
Access Code.
Press [ENTER].
