This section walks you through the steps to start managing your GS700TP switch. This section
covers how to get started in a network with a DHCP server (most common) as well as if you do not
have a DHCP server.

Network with DHCP Server

1. Connect the GS700TP switch to a DHCP network.
2. Power on the GS700TP switch by plugging in power cord.
3. Install the Smartwizard Discovery program on your computer.
4. Start Smartwizard Discovery (Chapter 3 contains detailed instructions on the Smartwizard
Discovery).
5. Click Discover to enable the Smartwizard Discovery to find your GS700TP switch, see
Figure 2-1.
