Sets or gets the system's ability to send an Echo Reply message in response to an Echo Request message
sent to an IPv6 or IPv4 multicast/anycast address.

Comments
This setting is applicable for both IPv4 and IPv6 configurations. The number of responses may be
traffic-conditioned to limit the effect of a denial of service attack.
After making a change, you must restart the system for the setting to take effect.
