REASSEMBLY
Reassembly is in the reverse order of disassembly (See
pa ge BR -4 3) .
NOTICE:
Apply high temperature grease to the parts indicated by the
arrows (See page BR-42).

ADJUST PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE

1 .
T emporarily install the hub nuts.
(a)
Remove the hole plug.
(b)
Turn the adjuster and expand the shoes until the disc
(c)
locks.
Return the adjuster 8 notches.
(d)
Install the hole plug.
(e)

SETTLING PARKING BRAKE SHOES AND DISC

Drive the vehicle at about 50 km/h (31 mph) on a safe. lev­
(a)
el and dry road.
With the parking brake release button pushed in, pull on

the lever wilh 98 N ( 1 0 kgf,
Drive the vehicle for about 400 meters (0.25 mile) in this
(c)
condition.
Repeat this procedure 2 or 3 times.

CHECK A N D ADJUST PARKING BRAKE LEVER
