REPLACEMENT
NOTICE:
When using a vise, do not overtighten it.
IF NECESSARY, REPLACE BEARING

Using SST, remove the bearing guide nut and bearing.
(a)
SST 0961 7-35020
Coat a new bearing with molybdenum disulfide lithium
(b)
base grease.
Install the bearing and using SST, install the bearing

guide nut.
SST
0961 7-35020
Torque: 40 N·m (410 kgf . cm, 30 ft·lbf)
IF NECESSARY, REPLACE OIL SEAL

Using a screwdriver with vinyl tape wound around its tip,

remove the oil seal.
NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the rack housing cap.
Coat a new oil seal lip with power steering fluid.
(b)
Using SST, press in the oil seal.
(c)
SST 09950-60010 (09951-<1021 0, 09951-00340,
09952-0601 0), 09950-700 1 0 (09951-07100)
NOTICE:
Make sure that the oil seal is installed facing i n the correct
direction.
IF NECESSARY, REPLACE OIL SEAL

Using SST, remove the oil seal.

SST 0961 2-2001 0
NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the rack housing.
Coat a new oil seal lip with power steering fluid.
