7.1.1 Lift Seat Function
CAUTION
Risk of injury if the power wheelchair tips over.  The
power wheelchair can tip over when the lift seat is raised,
causing the user to fall out of the wheelchair. The following
safety  instructions  must  be  followed  under  all  circum-
stances:
n Only travel short distances when the lift seat is raised,
e. g. when manoeuvring.
n Use the lift seat function only with the back rest set to
a vertical position.
n Apply the lap belt if possible.
n Only use the lift seat function on level surfaces!
n Do not change the mounting position of the lift seat
mechanism or the lift seat.
n For lift seat retrofit or conversion, observe the instruc-
tions provided in the service manual.
WARNING
Risk of injury if the power wheelchair tips over. Creep
speed is automatically activated when the lift seat is oper-
ated. If this is not case, it represents a malfunction and the
Page 142
lift  seat  function  must  not  be  used.  Contact  a  specialist
dealer as soon as possible to eliminate the problem.
WARNING
Risk of pinching in the lifting zone. When using the lift
seat function, no unauthorised persons may be present in
the danger zone. There must not be any interfering objects
or obstacles in the lifting zone.
All attendants must be informed that there are pinch points
caused by the construction in the area between the seat
frame and wheelchair frame. Users and attendants must
not reach into the danger zone if the electric seat tilt and /
or lift seat functions are installed.
CAUTION
Risk of falling.  Do  not  lean  the  upper  body  beyond  the
edge of the seat when the lift seat is raised.
CAUTION
Risk of accidents due to a restricted field of vision.
Since the user's field of vision is restricted when the seat
is  raised,  extra  caution  is  required  when  operating  the
wheelchair  with  the  lift  seat  in  the  raised  position  and
when activating the lift seat function.
