1.1 Preface

These instructions for use provide the user as well as his or
her  attendants  with  all  the  required  knowledge  on  the  de-
sign,  function,  operation,  and  maintenance  of  the  B600
power wheelchair from Otto Bock Mobility Solutions GmbH.
The instructions contain all the information that is needed to
use the power wheelchair safely, to determine the possible
causes of a malfunction, and to help eliminate it.
Knowledge of these instructions for use is absolutely neces-
sary for the safe operation of the power wheelchair. There-
fore,  the  user  and  his  or  her  attendants  must  read  the  in-
structions  for  use  thoroughly,  especially  the  section  on
"Safety",  before  using  the  power  wheelchair.  This  will  en-
sure that all features of the power wheelchair can be utilised
to their full advantage.

1.2 Intended Use
The B600 power wheelchair is intended exclusively for indi-
vidual  indoor  and  outdoor  self-transportation  by  persons
with walking impediments or walking inabilities. The power
wheelchair  may  only  be  combined  with  the  options  men-
tioned  in  these  instructions  for  use  and  vice  versa.  Otto
Bock assumes no liability for combinations with medical de-
vices and/or accessories from other manufacturers outside
of the modular system. An option for the B600 is to have it
controlled by an attendant with the use of an attendant con-
trol.
Any other use is considered improper use. The manufacturer
is  not  liable  for  any  personal  injury  or  damage  to  property
resulting  from  improper  use;  in  such  cases,  the  user  has
sole liability.
The  B600  may  only  be  used  by  properly  trained  persons.
Training  in  the  use  of  the  power  wheelchair  is  required  to
protect persons from danger and to ensure that the B600 is
operated safely and correctly.
Safe operation of the B600 can only be assured if it is used
for the intended purpose in accordance with the information
in these instructions for use. The user is ultimately responsi-
ble for accident-free operation.
