6.4 Releasing and Engaging the Brake
WARNING
Risk of death due to brake malfunction. Incorrect brake
settings can lead to a loss of brake functionality and there-
fore to serious bodily injuries and even death. Repairs and
adjustments to the brake may only be carried out by au-
thorised service personnel.
WARNING
Risk of accidents and injury due to lack of brake func-
tionality. When the brake is deactivated (push mode), no
brake  functionality  is  available.  When  moving  the  power
B600
wheelchair on an incline, the person pushing must provide
the appropriate brake force.
NOTICE
Risk of damage when parking the wheelchair with the
brake deactivated. Deactivating the brake may result in
uncontrolled  rolling  of  the  power  wheelchair.  Therefore,
make  sure  that  the  brake  is  engaged  when  parking  the
power wheelchair.
In case of control unit failure or insufficient battery capacity,
the power wheelchair can be pushed. To do so, the brake is
released  by  mechanically  unlocking  it.  The  brake  release
mechanism is located between the frame and seat.
Releasing the Brake
For  safety  reasons,  you  first  need  to  pull  up  on  the  brake
release bolt (see Figure 21).
In this position, the brake still has to be engaged!
INFORMATION
If the pushing function is already active, please contact your
specialist dealer.
When the joystick is activated while the brake is
INFORMATION
deactivated,  the  control  unit  emits  an  error  signal  on  the
control panel. If this is not the case, there is a malfunction
that must be corrected immediately by a specialist dealer.
