Safety
INFORMATION
Road traffic regulations must be observed when driving on
the road.
INFORMATION
If  the  driving  mode  is  changed  while  driving,  the  power
wheelchair will accelerate or decelerate.
INFORMATION
The control unit of the power wheelchair is protected ac-
cording  to  protection  class  IP  54  and  the  push  button
module according to protection class IP 64. Accordingly
both can be used in bad weather (e. g. rain). The control
unit / push button module is approved for indoor and out-
door operation and meets the requirements regarding cli-
mate and splashed water.
INFORMATION
The controls of the power wheelchair must be reactivated
after  an  emergency  stop.  In  the  event  of  communication
problems  in  the  bus  system  of  the  controls,  the  system
triggers an emergency stop and thus prevents any uncon-
trolled functions. If the driving function is still not available
Page 106
after reactivating the controls, the brake must be released
to  switch  over  to  pushing  mode.  In  this  case,  contact  a
specialist dealer as soon as possible.
INFORMATION
If the controls do not emit an error signal as soon as the
brake lever is activated, this indicates a malfunction. The
settings must be checked by a specialist dealer.
INFORMATION
Manoeuvring is only allowed at reduced speeds.
2.6 Safety Requirements for Care, Maintenance,
and Disposal
CAUTION
Risk of accidents and injury due to improper mainte-
nance, repairs, or adjustments.  Maintenance  work  on
the power wheelchair may only be completed by person-
nel authorised and trained by Otto Bock. This also applies
to all repairs and settings on the brake. Incorrect settings
can lead to a loss of braking power.
