Operation
where the user will get into the wheelchair. Bring the power
wheelchair as close as possible to the place where its user
is sitting.
If the control panel is located on the side where the user is
getting in or out, carefully remove the control panel. Remove
the  side  panel  as  described  in  Section  6.1.3  (remove  the
footrest if necessary; see Section 6.1.5).
The user can then slide onto the wheelchair seat from the
side. Use of a transfer board will make this even easier.
6.2.2 From the Front
Flipping up the two footplates makes it possible for the user
to  get  into  and  out  of  the  wheelchair  from  the  front  (Fig-
ure 13). Swinging the footrests away to the sides increases
the amount of space available when getting in or out (Fig-
ure 14). If required, it is also possible to remove the footrests
from their adapter after swinging them out of the way (Fig-
ure  15;  please  observe  the  safety  information  in  Section
6.1.5, footrest).
The assistance of an attendant or a transfer lifter allows the
user to get into or out of the power wheelchair easily. Use of
a rotation plate is also possible.
