INFORMATION
closing the battery drawer. It has to lock into the correspond-
ing recess on the drive unit sustainer.
When it is locked correctly, the bolt is easy to see and feel
on the underside of the drive unit sustainer (see Figure 27).

6.5.1 Charging

WARNING
Risk of injury due to explosive gases.  Explosive  gases
can develop while the batteries are charging. The follow-
ing safety instructions must be followed under all circum-
stances:  Ensure  sufficient  ventilation  when  charging  the
batteries in an enclosed room. Smoking and fire are not
permitted. Sparks must be avoided. Do not cover the air
vents in the trim.
NOTICE
Risk of battery damage. Driving with low battery capacity
for an extended period of time will discharge the battery
completely and result in damage. There is a risk that the
power wheelchair may stop due to zero battery capacity
and bring the user into a dangerous situation.
The remaining battery capacity determines the range of the
power  wheelchair.  The  battery  capacity  is  influenced  by
many factors. In addition to the temperature, age of the bat-
teries,  and  amount  of  use,  the  charging  cycle  has  a  pro-
nounced effect on the capacity and therefore on the range.
