Supervision Peltier current
The value of the Peltier current is detected
by the control due to a voltage drop. It can
be measured by means of a measuring
resistor (0.1 Ohm; on the control board).
The cooling is switched off in order to
protect the Peltier element from damage
due to a short-circuit:
- when I > 5 A.
The microprocessor activates flashing of
the empty indicator LED.
or
- when
for more than 10 sec. I < 1 A or > 4 A.
The microprocessor activates flashing of
the empty indicator LED.
This error can be caused by lacking heat
conduction of the heat sink (it is either
very dirty or the fan is not operating).
When the heat sink temperature
increases, the electric current through
the Peltier element decreases.
Normally, (i.e. in a stable, cooled condition)
the Peltier current is in the range of
1 – 3.2 A.
In the first minute after a current
interruption it can, however, be up to 15 %
higher.
