3.3 Remedies for Error Messages

The Error messages and their corresponding remedies are explained below.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
Description
No paper is loaded in the printer.
The button has been pressed without paper set in the
printer.
The paper runs out while printing is in progress.
The PE sensor is broken.
The paper presser is released.
The paper is not loaded straight.
The paper source selected in the printer driver and the
printer's control panel do not match.
Paper is not cut correctly.
There is something wrong with the cutter mechanism, and
the cutter is not operating normally.
Paper cutter may be dull.
The Cutter Motor is overloaded abnormally.
The paper is not set correctly.
The paper that is out of the detection range of paper
thickness sensor is detected.
Remedies for Error Messages
Remedy/Points to be checked
Load paper correctly.
Press the button to release the paper presser, and then set the paper.
Press the button to release the paper presser, and then remove the
paper. Then, load a new paper.
Check if there is any foreign material such as paper dust stuck on the
sensor.
Check the connection between the PE Sensor and the Main Board Assy.
Replace the PE Sensor.
Set the paper, and then press the button.
Press the button to release the paper presser, and then load the paper
straight.
Check the source setting in the printer driver and printer's control panel,
and load the paper correctly.
Press the button to release the paper presser, and open the front
cover. Then remove the uncut paper.
Paper cutter may be dull. Replace the paper cutter.
Check the installation and the connection of the Cutter Sensor, Cutter
Encoder, and Cutter Motor.
Replace the Cutter Unit. (See P.257)
Replace the cutter.
Check if there is some foreign material causing extra load to the rotation
of Cutter Motor.
Replace the Cutter Unit. (See P.257)
Press the button to release the paper presser, and remove the paper.
Then, set the paper correctly.
Set the paper that meets the specifications.
Execute the Paper Thickness Sensor Position Adjustment.
Replace the Paper Thickness Sensor. (See P.257)
