3.4 Remedies for Error Messages

The following tables explains the error messages and remedies.
Message on LCD
SERVICE CALL ERROR See 3.5 Remedies for Service Call Error on page 74.

PRINTER ERROR A firmware bug, or some circuit component(s) on the main board is (are)
RESTART THE PRINTER

CARRIAGE LOCKED The power is turned On without removing the protective material for the print

PAPER JAM A paper jam has occurred.
CLEAR JAMMED PAPER
The PE sensor detected paper is still in the paper feed path. Torn scrap of paper

NO MAINTENANCE CART. No maintenance cartridge has been installed.

PAPER FEED ERROR The PW sensor cannot detect the paper when the PF motor has driven a

Remedies for Error Messages
Remedy
Turn the printer Off and reboot it after waiting for a while. If a Service Call
error occurs, see 3.5 Remedies for Service Call Error (p74)
troubleshooting.
Remove the protective material.
Remove the jammed paper and load paper correctly.
Check the paper feed path around the PE sensor and remove any scrap of paper
or foreign matter.
Check the paper feed path and remove any scrap of paper or foreign matter.
Install a maintenance cartridge.
Remove the maintenance cartridge and reinstall it correctly. If this does not
solve the problem, replace the cartridge with a new one.
Replace the maintenance cartridge with a new one.
Close the maintenance cartridge cover.
Check the cover. If any damage is observed, replace it with a new one.
Check that the following connectors are connected correctly.
Connector on the maintenance cartridge cover sensor
CN62 on the main board
Replace the maintenance cartridge cover sensor.

Remove the paper and load paper correctly.
Check the paper feed path and remove any scrap of paper or foreign matter.
