Model N6705 User's Guide
From the front panel:
To configure the digital input function, press the Menu key, scroll
down and select the Utilities item, then select Digital I/O. Then
press Enter. The Digital I/O window will appear as previously shown
under "Bi-directional Digital I/O".
Select pin 1 from the Pin dropdown list.
Select the Fault Out function for the pin the from the Function
dropdown list.
Configure the polarity for the pin by selecting the Polarity dropdown
menu. Select either Positive or Negative.
From the remote interface:
To configure the Fault Out function for pin 1:
DIG:PIN1:FUNC FAUL
To configure the pin polarity to positive for pin 1:
DIG:PIN1:POL POS
Pin 3 can be configured as a remote inhibit input. The Inhibit In
function lets an external input signal control the output state of all of
the outputs in the mainframe. The input is level-triggered. The signal
latency is 5 microseconds. Pin 8 is common for pin 3.
When an Inhibit signal turns off the outputs, the front panel INH
indicator comes on and the INH bit is set in the Questionable Status
Event register. To re-enable the outputs if the inhibit signal was
latched, you must clear the protection function as explained in
chapter 3.
Outputs can only be controlled by the inhibit signal if they have
previously been turned on by the front panel On key or a remote
command. If an output is turned on while the Inhibit input is true,
the output will remain off.
