When installing the Orchid Productivity
Software, you will allocate parts of memory
for RAM Disks and Print Spooling.
o
RAM Disks can be placed in DOS,
Protected, and EMS Memory. Print
Spooling goes in DOS Memory. It can use
either the host's memory or the Turbo's
memory. By placing these utilities in
o
the host's memory, the Turbo's memory
will be available for your application
program.
Be sure to leave room in DOS Memory for
the operating system and any other
utilities, such as pop-up calculators or
keyboard macros. To see if you have
enough DOS memory left for your
application program: install the
Productivity Software, reboot, and use
the DOS command CHKDSK.
o
If you have any applications programs
that support EMS Expanded Memory (such as
1-2-3 or Framework), leave room in
EMS Expanded Memory for them. For
example, do not use all of your EMS
memory for RAM disks, as this will leave
no EMS memory for your application
program.
NOTE: When you enter Turbo Mode, all of
the host's available memory will be used
f
or caching. When you return to the
host, caching will be disabled and its
memory will be available to the
application program you wish to run.
