FORMAT:
For clarity, the options for PRTSPOOL are
shown here in four separate groups:

Parallel Port, Serial Port, Memory
Allocation, and Page Reprint. When you
use them, the Memory Allocation and Page
Reprint options can be combined with
Seriai or Parallel spooling. The
examples at the end of this section show
some of the combinations.
Spooling Parallel Port -
PRTSPOOL LPTn: - LPTn: indicates the
parallel port that is being spooled.
LPTl, LPT2, or LPT3 can be specified.
Spooling Serial Port -
PRTSPOOL LPTn:=COMn: /RATE=n. [parity].
[databits], [stopbits]. 1/0N=protocol]
1/0FF=protocol]
LPTn:=COMn: - This part of the command
indicates that output sent to the
parallel port LPTn is being redirected to
serial port COMn.

The application program (word
processor, spread sheet, etc.)
should send its printer output to
the parallel port specified (LPTl,
LPT2, or LPT3).
o
PRTSPOOL will buffer this output and
send it to the serial port specified
(COMI or COM2).
