Changing the Configuration
You can run the INSTALL Program again to
change the configuration. Notice that
it
will
copy the Productivity Software from the
distribution disk again. Simply tell it to
overwrite the files
it
copied previously.
If you feel comfortable editing the files on
your boot disk and understand the command
syntax described in Appendix B, you can use an
editor to experiment with different
configurations.
Placing Commands in HOSTEXEC.BA T
and TURBEXEC.BA T
The INSTALL program copies the commands from
your AUTOEXEC.BAT file to the HOSTEXEC.BAT
file so that they will execute on the host.
You can copy commands to the TURBEXEC.BAT file
so they will execute on the Turbo. This may
be necessary to make some commands (resident
programs like SideKick) available in Turbo
mode.
It
is a good idea to try running the command
on the Turbo before placing it in the
TURBEXEC.BA T.
Some
commands run only on the
host, and should be left in the HOSTEXEC.BA T
file. The DOS command MODE is an example.
Most memory-resident programs, like SideKick,
should be placed in the TURBEXEC.BA T file. If
you mainly operate in Turbo
mode,
move
as many commands from the HOSTEXEC.BAT to
'-.-/
TURBEXEC.BAT as possible. This will leave the
host's memory
free
for caching, RAM disks, and
print spooling.
