Example: You may want to use 360K for a RAM
disk, 240K for caching drive C:, and 40K for
spooling LPTI. This would equal 640K, which
would fill up all of DOS Memory, leaving no
room for DOS and the application programs.
The PCturbo allows you to use the host's EMS
Expanded Memory for RAM disk and caching so
they don't use up DOS Memory. This could be
achieved with the following commands:
in the CONFIG.SYS file:
device=ramdisk.sys 360
Ix
in the HOSTEXEC.BA T file:
cache c x=240
prtspool Ipt1: Im=40
NOTE: The cache command in the
HOSTEXEC.BAT file inv-okes caching in
host mode. You do not need a cache
command for caching in Turbo mode.
