When jR is specified (either TURBO IR or
CACHE IR), press <Alt>-<Left Shift>-F to
flush the cache buffers before changing
removable media. Always clear the
buffers when IR is used:
I )
Before changing a floppy disk.
2)
Before changing a removable hard
disk, like an Iomega. (The latest
version of the Iomega will
automatically inform the CACHE
program when the disk is changed.)
3)
When a disk errOr occurs.
NOTE: Caching removable media, such as
floppy disks, requires a great deal of
care on behalf of the operator and
is not recommended.
EXAMPLE:
These examples can be typed from the
keyboard or placed in HOSTEXEC.BAT.
Any example using EMS Expanded Memory
requires the EMS device driver to be the
first line in the CONFIG.SYS file.
I)
Cache fixed drive C: using 64K of
DOS Memory:
cache c d=64
2)
Cache removable drives A: and B: and
fixed drive C: using 1MB of EMS
Expanded Memory:
cache a,b,c x=1024
