/D=kkk - Set DOS Memory
This option sets DOS memory.
It
changes the
size of PCturbo system memory available for
'-../
DOS. The value of kkk is the DOS memory size
in kilobytes. The default is /0=640, which
reserves 640K for DOS. TURBO /D=704 allows
DOS to occupy 704K.
Some application software will not
execute properly in 704K of DOS memory.
Try all software using the default 640K
before experimenting with the 704K value.
/C, /R - Setting Disk Cache Status
By default, the PCturbo automatically enables
hard disk caching. Hard disks (and
"intelligent" removable disks like the Iomega
Bernoulli Box) are automatically cached in
normal PC turbo operation. Removable drives
(floppy disks) can be cached using the /R
option. Some users may also wish to disable
disk caching entirely, with the /C option.
These are the caching options:
default
/C
Hard Disk Caching Enabled
All Caching Disabled
/R
Hard Disk and Removable Caching
Enabled
WARNING: If you specify removable
caching, you must <Alt>-<Left Shift>-<F>
to flush the cache buffers whenever
you change a removable disk. Failure to
"--...J
do this may result in serious data loss.
