PCturbo
286e
1/0 Address
The PC turbo 286e uses eight consecutive I/O
addresses. The I/O addresses are jumper
selectable. They must be set so that they do
not conflict with other peripherals.
o
The factory-set
1/0
addresses are 300H
through 307H (Hex). These are the I/O
addresses that the IBM Technical
Reference Manual recommends for
"Prototype Cards."
You will not have to change the factory
setting unless your system contains either a
Prototype Card or another peripheral using
these I/O addresses.
The
1/0
address is set by the row of seven
jumpers labeled SWI. The jumpers in this row
are labeled I through 7.
The factory default and several recommended
alternatives are shown below. There are many
more possible settings. Appendix A shows
how to determine the jumper settings for any
desired I/O address.
NOTE: The drawing on the next page
shows the jumpers as they appear when
you hold the board with the card-edge
connector facing toward you with jumper 7
on the right. Appendix
A
shows the
jumpers in the opposite direction so
they correspond to their meaning.
