SOFTWARE
PCturbo 286e provides one or two megabytes of
memory compatible with DOS, Protected Memory,
and the Lotus/Intel/Microsoft Expanded
Memory Specification ... Programs using these
types of memory will run on the PCturbo 286e
if there are no other conflicts.
PRTSPOOL is compatible with programs that
output to the printer through DOS. Some
software ignores DOS and writes directly to
the output port. This is very common when a
piece of software sets its own parameters for
the serial port or implements its own
spooling. Usually this conflict can be
avoided by having the application program
output to th,e parallel port and using PR TSPOOL
to redirect the output to the desired serial
port.
CACHE.EXE works with
all
fixed disks that are
compatible with DOS 2.0 or higher.
The PCturbo 286e is compatible with the
latest versions of Advanced ·Super Lock copy
protection from Soft Guard Systems, used
by Lotus 1-2-3 Release 2 and Symphony
Version
1.1.
The Turbo is too fast for the
timing requirements of earlier versions of .
Super lock. Early releases (dated 1984
Or earlier) ofdBASE III Version 1;1 or
Framework Version
1
should be updated.
NOTE: Only the floppy-disk versions have
trou ble. Once the program has been
installed on a hard disk it will work
properly. Install the program on the
hard disk in host mode. From then
on, you can run it in Turbo mode.
