Solving Problems

This table lists some common problems and their solutions.
Problem
Cannot transmit or receive The line cord may have be-

7. Troubleshooting

Solution
come disconnected. Make
sure it is correctly connect-
ed.
If the document is being
stored, press the {Stop}
key.
If the document is being
sent, use "Check/Cancel
TX Files" in the "Informa-
tion" menu.
Press the {Stop} key.
If the document is too
thick, too thin, or the back
surface is slippery, it might
not be fed into the ADF
properly. Only set appro-
priate types of document in
the ADF.
Adjust the scan density.
The Document Feeder
(ADF) is dirty. Make sure
that ink or eraser is dry be-
fore setting documents.
The document was set with
the wrong side facing
down. Set it with the oppo-
site side facing down.
