Short Circuit

As soon as a short circuit occurs, the output stage is automatically switched off.
The LEDs for "Status channel A" and "Status channel B" light up red. The status
bit READY is set to "0". The bits 1, 2, and 6 in the status byte of the local bus are
set to "1". The subsequent figure clarifies the behavior:

10.5.3

Wire Break

The actual value of the current is evaluated as soon as a target value greater
than 10 mA is applied for the current. If, in addition, the actual value of the
current is less than 5 mA for one second, then the "wire break" diagnosis is
triggered. If a wire break has occurred, the output stage is automatically switched
off. The LEDs for "Status channel A" and "Status channel B" light up red. The
status bit READY is set to "0". The bits 1, 2, and 6 in the status byte of the local
bus are set to "1". The subsequent figure clarifies the behavior.
10.5.4

Overtemperature

If a temperature sensor is built into the I/O module, the the module is
automatically protected from high temperatures. The outputs are automatically
switched off beginning at a temperature of 102°C. As soon as the temperature
reaches this value, the READY bit is set to "0" and the diagnostic bits in the
status byte of the local bus are set to "1". If the temperature falls below a value of
97°C, then the outputs can be switched on again. The figure in the "Short circuit"
section clarifies this behavior.
