1. Shut down the windrower, and remove the key from the ignition.
2. Install V-belts (C) onto the pulleys.
NOTE:
Ensure the drive motor is fully forward, do NOT pry the
belts over the pulley.
3. Turn adjuster bolt (B) clockwise to tighten the V-belts. A
properly tensioned V-belt should deflect 4 mm (5/32 in.)
when 52–77 N (12–17 lbf) is applied at the midspan.
IMPORTANT:
To prolong the life of V-belts and drives, do NOT
overtighten the V-belts.
4. Tighten two bolts (A) on the endsheet.
5. Close the endshield. For instructions, refer to
6. Check the tension of the new V-belts after a short run-in period (about five hours).
Removing Timed Knife Drive Belt
The timed knife drive belt removal procedure is the same for both sides of the header.
DANGER
To prevent bodily injury or death from the unexpected start-up or fall of a raised machine, always stop the engine and
remove the key before leaving the operator's seat, and always engage the safety props before going under the
machine for any reason.
1. Shut down the engine, and remove the key from the
ignition.

3. Loosen two nuts (A) on the belt idler bracket to relieve the
belt tension.
4. Loosen nut (B) on the idler pulley and slide the idler
downward to loosen the belt.
