7.3 Reel Delivery

Use the following tables to determine the cause of reel delivery problems and the recommended repair procedure.
Problem
Symptom: Reel Not Releasing Material in Normal Standing Crop
Reel speed too fast
Reel too low
Reel tines too aggressive
Reel too far back
Symptom: Reel Not Releasing Material in Lodged and Standing Crop (Reel Fully Lowered)
Reel tines too aggressive for standing
crop
Symptom: Wrapping on Reel End
Reel tines too aggressive
Reel too low
Reel speed too fast
Crop conditions
Reel not centered in header
Symptom: Reel Releases Crop too Quickly
Reel tines not aggressive enough
Reel too far forward
Symptom: Reel Will Not Lift
Reel lift couplers are incompatible or
defective
Symptom: Reel Will Not Turn
Control set at 0
Quick couplers not properly
connected
Reel drive chain disconnected
Symptom: Reel Motion Uneven under no Load
Excessive slack in reel drive chain

TROUBLESHOOTING
Solution
Reduce reel speed
Raise reel
Reduce cam setting
Move reel forward
Reduce cam setting (1 or 2)
Reduce cam setting
Raise reel
Reduce reel speed
Install optional endshields
Center reel in header
Increase cam setting
Move reel back
Change quick coupler
Activate reel speed control
Connect couplers
Connect reel drive chain
Tighten reel drive chain
