To Replace the FPD Ignitor

1 Gather the following:
• Ignitor replacement kit. (See
for the FPD" on page 308.)
• Torx screwdrivers, T- 20 and T- 10
• 9/16- inch wrench
• Tweezers
Load the GC maintenance method

Be careful! The detector may be hot enough to cause burns. If the
detector is hot, wear heat-resistant gloves to protect your hands.
Remove the vent tube assembly and cover. (See

4 Loosen the collar screw (some have two screws) holding
the cable assembly to the ignitor. Remove the collar and
cable assembly.
Use a wrench to loosen and remove the glow plug.
