Break off the column end by supporting it against the
column cutter opposite the scribe. Inspect the end with a
magnifying loupe to make certain there are no burrs or
jagged edges.

Wipe the column walls with a tissue dampened with
isopropanol to remove fingerprints and dust.
Gently insert the column into the inlet until it bottoms.

You should feel spring tension as you push up on the
column. (Do not withdraw the column.)
Insert the column nut into the inlet fitting and

finger- tighten.
