Servicing the SCC PROM

These topics describe service procedures for the SCC PROM in the server.
The SCC PROM stores the host ID and MAC address. If you have to replace the motherboard,
be sure to move the System configuration PROM from the old motherboard to the new
motherboard. This step will ensure that the server will retain its original host ID and MAC
address.
This procedure requires that you handle components that are sensitive to electrostatic

discharge. This discharge can cause failure of server components.
Steps
Description
1.
Remove the main module.
2.
Replace the SCC PROM.
3.
Install the main module.
4.
Verify the SCC PROM.

Remove the SCC PROM

The SCC PROM is a cold-service component that can be replaced only by authorized
