Servicing the SPM
These topics describe service procedures for the service processor module (SPM) in the server.
Caution -
This procedure requires that you handle components that are sensitive to electrostatic
discharge. This discharge can cause failure of server components.
Steps
Description
1.
Determine if the SPM is faulty.
2.
Remove the main module.
3.
Replace the SPM.
4.
Install the main module.
5.
Verify the replacement SPM.
Determine if the SPM Is Faulty
The following LEDs are illuminated when a SPM fault is detected:
System Service Required LEDs on the front panel and rear I/O module

Server SP LED on the main module or rear I/O module
■
Determine if the Server Service Required LEDs are illuminated on the front panel

SPM needs to be replaced.
