Service and Repair
Replacing the Ground Cable
The groun d cable (green/ yellow) can be removed with all other in ter ior
assemblies in place. To r emove it:

To r einstall the groun d cable, r everse these steps.
Removing the Front Panel
The fron t pan el must be r emoved befor e you can r emove the power
switch (an d/ or its pushbutton cap), the display, or any of the exhaust
fans. To r emove it:

Remove all cables from the exter ior of the instr umen t, an d r emove the
cover (see

Remove the # 10 Tor x roun d head scr ew holding the power supply
shield to the chassis, an d r emove the shield.
Disconnect the ground cable's in sulated conn ector from the power
supply.
Discon nect the groun d cable's n on- insulated conn ector from the
chassis.
Route the ground cable past the power supply and power switch cable
and r emove it.

Remove all cables from the exter ior of the instr umen t, an d r emove the
cover (see

Remove the two # 10 Tor x flat- head scr ews (on e at each side of the
digitizer ) holding the front panel to the chassis.
Remove the two # 10 Tor x flat- head scr ews (at the front pan el of the
digitizer ) holding the front panel to the chassis.
Remove the # 10 Tor x flat- head scr ew (at the cen ter- front of the
bottom side of the digitizer) holdin g the front panel to the chassis.
Remove the pan el, but suppor t it if the display cable is still con nected
between the car rier board an d display.
