Calibration and Adjustment
T est Considerations
Er ror s may be induced by ac signals presen t on the input leads dur ing a
self test. Long test leads can also act as an an tenna causin g pick up of
ac signals.
For optimum per for man ce, all procedur es should comply with the
followin g r ecommen dation s:
You must t ake car e to en sur e that the calibr ation standards and test
procedur es used do not in troduce addition al er rors. Ideally, the standards
used to ver ify and adjust the digitizer should be an order of magn itude
more accur ate than each digitizer r ange full scale er ror specification.

Assure that the calibr ation ambien t temper ature (T
between 18 C and 28 C. Ideally the calibration should be per for med
at 23 C.
Assure ambient r elative humidity is less than 95%.
Allow a 60 minute war m up per iod.
Keep the input cables as shor t as possible.
Conn ect the input cable shields to ear th ground. Except where n oted
in the procedur es, con nect the calibr ator LO source to ear th ground at
the calibrator. It is impor tant that the LO to ear th ground con nection
be made at only on e place in the circuit to avoid ground loops.
