Calibration and Adjustment
Performance Verification T ests
Use the Per for mance Ver ification Tests to ver ify the measurement
per for man ce of the digitizer. The per for mance verification tests use the
digitizer's specifications listed in Chapter 1, Specification s .
You can per for m four differ ent levels of per for mance ver ification tests:
Self T est
A brief power on self test occur s automatically when ever you tur n on the
digitizer. This limited test assur es that the digitizer is capable of
oper ation. You can in itiate a mor e complete self test as descr ibed
beginn in g on

Self Test . A series of in ter n al ver ification tests that give a high
con fiden ce that the digitizer is oper ation al.
Quick Ver ifica t ion . A combin ation of the inter n al self tests an d
selected ver ification tests.
Per for ma n ce Ver ificat ion Test s. An exten sive set of tests that are
r ecommen ded as an accept ance test when you fir st r eceive the
digitizer or after per for ming adjustmen ts.
Opt ion a l Ver ificat ion Test s. Tests n ot per for med with ever y
calibr ation. Per for m these tests to ver ify addition al char acter istics or
fun ctions of the digitizer.

If the self test fails, the E annun ciator in the display tur ns on. Use
the web inter face to deter mine the source of the er ror (see
Web Inter face
on page 35).
If r epair is r equired, r efer to procedures in Chapter 5, Service and
Repair or contact an Agilen t Ser vice Cen ter.
If all tests pass, you have a high confiden ce (>90%) that the digitizer is
oper ation al.
