Calibration and Adjustment

Calibration Interval
The digitizer should be calibrated on a regular in ter val deter min ed by the
measuremen t accur acy requir ements of your application.
A 1 year in terval is adequate for most applications. Accur acy
specifications will r emain valid on ly if adjustmen t is made at r egular
calibr ation inter vals. Accuracy specifications are n ot valid beyond the
1 year calibr ation inter val. Agilent does not r ecommend extending
calibr ation inter vals beyon d 2 year s for any application .
Adjustment is Recommended
Specification s ar e on ly valid within the per iod stated from the last
adjustmen t. Whatever calibr ation in ter val you select, Agilent recommends
that complete re adjustment always be per for med at the calibr ation
in terval. This is n ecessar y to en sure that the digitizer will r emain within
specification for the next calibr ation interval. This cr iter ia for
r e adjustment provides the best lon g ter m stability.
Per for mance dat a measur ed during Per for mance Ver ification Tests does
n ot mean that the digitizer will remain within these limits un less the
adjustmen ts ar e per for med.
Time Required for Calibration
The digitizer can be automatically calibrated under computer control.
With computer control you can per for m the ver ification procedure in less
than 45 min utes and the adjustment procedur e in less than 10 min utes.
