Quick Performance Check
The quick per for mance check is a combination of inter n al self test an d
an abbr eviated per for mance test (specified by the letter Q in the
per for mance ver ification tests). This test provides a simple method to
achieve high confidence in the digitizer's ability to functionally oper ate
an d meet specification s. These tests repr esen t the absolute minimum set
of per for man ce checks r ecommended following any ser vice activity.
Auditing the digitizer 's per for mance for the quick check points
(designated by a Q) ver ifies per for man ce for n or mal accur acy dr ift
mechan isms. This test does n ot check for abn or mal compon en t failur es.
To per for m the quick per for mance check, do the following:
If the digitizer fails the quick per for mance check, adjustment or repair is
r equir ed.
Performance Verification T ests
The per for mance ver ification tests ar e r ecommended as accept ance tests
when you fir st r eceive the digitizer. The accept an ce test r esults should be
compar ed against the n ominal temper atur e test limits. After acceptan ce,
you should r epeat the per for mance ver ification tests at ever y calibration
inter val.
If the digitizer fails per for man ce ver ification , adjustmen t or repair is
r equir ed.
Adjustmen t is recommended at ever y calibr ation inter val. If adjustment is
n ot made, you must establish a `guard band', usin g n o mor e than 80% of
the specifications, as the verification limits.
Input Connections
All test connections to the digitizer are made using BNC con nector s and
cables. The input BNC conn ector locations ar e shown on
