Preparing the FDM

Changing the Watlow Temperatures

The temperature control graphic does not necessarily contain the
recommended temperatures for the modeling tip, support tip, and
modeling envelope. Always check the white label on the side of the
material spool and set the controls for the temperatures specified
there.
Please note the following Watlow temperature characteristics for the FDM:
The Support Temperature Control has two set points:
– Operating temperature setpoint at 235° C (455° F)
– Standby temperature setpoint at 210° C (410° F)
Upon completion of a part build or any machine caused interruption, such
as a filament out or torque limit, the standby temperature setpoint will
be enabled.
Between building support layers, the standby temperature set-point may
be enabled.
The keypad will display the message "Low Temp Set" when the
temperature controller is set lower when it reaches the end of the file.
When the FDM sends a new SML file, the temperature is changed to
the operating temperature automatically.
At a machine induced pause, such as a filament out or machine error,
you must press Enter to clear the message and take corrective action.
Whenever you change to P400R or E20R material, you must manually
set the operating temperature on the controller using the Temperature
Increase/Decrease button.
If you need to change to the ICW06 material, please contact customer
service for specific instructions.
