Model Recovery
Description
The ssrecov utility recovers or restarts a build in which the sending command
was interrupted due to a power failure or surge, or inadvertent logoff from your
system. You can run Model recovery on all FDM modelers including the FDM,
1650, 2000, 3000, or 8000, as long as you are using Insight.
1.
Move the head away from the part and toward the back between the two sets of
brushes. This prevents the part from being burned from the tip.
2.
Move the Z-stage down approx. an inch, in order to prevent the FDM head from
knocking over the part when the head moves during the homing procedure.
IMPORTANT: Remove the tray from the FDM if your part exceeds 7" tall, or if
your part is located in the last 1" of the build envelope.
3.
In FDM Status, open the details window
4.
In the details window, click on the "Part recovery" button
5.
Click the green check mark to start the recovery.
6.
Click on Save to start the recovery process.
7.
The recovered.sml file gets sent automatically to the FDM.
·
The first thing the FDM will do, the "pause" light will go on.
·
Take the FDM off of pause, the head will go through its homing procedure and purge both
tips.
·
It will go back on pause, at this point you can put the tray back in if you had removed it
earlier.
·
As soon as you take it back off of pause, the head will resume modeling.
6.
When the model is completed, you need to delete the recovered.sml file.
