Introduction to the WaterWorks P400/500
Soluble Release
Congratulations on the purchase of the WaterWorks Soluble Release product.
Using soluble release material reduces the time required to remove supports,
provides better part surface finish, and eliminates the need to split parts
requiring internal supports. If you have any questions regarding the
procedures in this guide, please call Stratasys Customer Support at 952-

This User Guide details the procedures necessary to set up and use the soluble
release material on your FDM .
Before you start using the WaterWorks P400/500 Soluble Release with your
FDM system, there are many setup procedures you will need to perform. The
following procedures are described in this User Guide:

Check/Change the Watlow Temperatures
2.
Attach FDM Tips to the FDM Head
3.
Remove an FDM Tip from the FDM Head
4.
Attach Tip Shroud to the FDM Tips
5.
Mount or Change A Spool of Material
6.
Download Insight and Button Files
7.
Calibrate for Soluble Material
8.
Remove Soluble Supports with the Ultrasonic Cleaner
Please make sure you perform and follow the above steps in the order they
are presented to ensure optimum performance and operation of the
WaterWorks P400/500 Soluble Release material.
NOTE:
WaterWorks P400/500 Soluble Release is configured as a stan-
dard product with the FDM 3000.
Tips for Modeling with Soluble Supports
Preprocessing
Select "soluble" from the Insight configure-modeler window.
T12 and T16 are available tip sizes. Use the T12 with the T10 model
side tip at a .007-in. slice.
It is recommend that you use the "Sparse Support" option for all parts.
